Sinopsis

En algún lugar del norte de la Amazonía colombiana se encuentra el viejo Sixto Muñoz, también conocido como el «último indio tinigua». Según dicen en la región donde ha vivido las últimas décadas, a sus 105 años, Sixto ha decidido dejar su casa en la laguna para emprender su «último viaje» a la selva. En una expedición a lo largo del río Guayabero, desde La Macarena hasta el Guaviare, sigo su rastro con la esperanza de encontrarlo antes de su muerte. 

Somewhere in the north of the Colombian Amazon lives the old Sixto Muñoz, also known as “the last Tinigua man.” According to people in the region where he has lived for the past decades, at 105 years old Sixto has decided to leave his home by the lagoon to undertake his “final journey” into the forest. On a journey along the Guayabero River, from La Macarena to Guaviare, I follow his trail in the hope of finding him before he dies.

Productor y director de cine colombo-francés. Con formación en biología en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y estudios en filosofía en la Universidad de la Sorbona. Su trabajo explora la huella de lo vivo, la memoria que se inscribe en ella y la posibilidad de trazar su imagen a través del lenguaje cinematográfico. Ha dirigido una trilogía compuesta por tres largometrajes —Homo Botanicus (2018), Río Rojo (2023) y Relicto (2026)— presentados en festivales como Cinéma du Réel, Dok-Leipzig y Torino Film Festival. Como productor, ha trabajado en los largometrajes Transfariana (2023), de Joris Lachaise, y En tierra (2025), de Simón Uribe, presentados en la Berlinale y en el IDFA.

 

Colombian-French film producer and director. He studied biology at the National University of Colombia and philosophy at the Sorbonne University. His work explores the traces of life, the memory inscribed in it, and the possibility of tracing its image through the language of cinema. He has directed a trilogy consisting of three feature films—Homo Botanicus (2018), Río Rojo (2023), and Relicto (2026)—presented at festivals such as Cinéma du Réel, Dok-Leipzig, and the Torino Film Festival. As a producer, he has worked on the feature films Transfariana (2023), by Joris Lachaise, and En tierra (2025), by Simón Uribe, presented at the Berlinale and IDFA.
